For those used to one-night stands, the desenstization of sexual intercourse is a process over time --but for a virgin to give it away assuming no repercussions will occur? She is fooling herself into thinking it won't matter. She may try to sheild herself and remove herself from the experience, but she is playing with fire, and there is no way she can escape this experience unscathed. It will affect/effect her for the rest of her life, college paid for, be damned. <BR/><BR/>So, all ideals of virginity aside, I think the myth of sex is one that should be addressed. And that myth is that sex is purely physical and has no negative consequences to the psyche. Why people still believe this is beyond me. <BR/><BR/>[Oh, and the flip side to that? Being a long-term committed relationship (marriage!) where partners have the luxury of giving their souls and bodies to each other without fear of rejection and loneliness.
